wagon wheel.

this is one of those songs i feel that everyone in the family would enjoy,
and i like things like that. even in such a close group of people, it's hard to get 6 to agree on one thing. also, bob dylan wrote it. so, awesome.

Get you a ripe one

Last year our garden didn't really work. We ended up with a couple dozen hard little grape sized tomatoes and a dead squash plant. This year it's going to be different. I built some retaining walls, tilled and mended the soil, and started earlier than mid-July.

The line up for this summer is:
Tomatoes (Roma for cold spaghetti and bottling. Cherry for dinner at dad's. Black plum, and japanese black for variety and salsa)
Peas
Carrots
Green beans
Sweet Peppers
Oregano
Basil
Cilantro
Lettuce
and Strawberries

Everything is in the ground except for the carrots and beans, but they will be soon. We got the tomatoes from Wasatch Community Gardens, strawberries from Bruce and everything else is from seed.

Tomatoes
Pea rows, 'maters, and spices

Sweet Peppers (we started them inside about a month ago)

And our flowies (the strawberries are in the corner and the green pot.)

The flower patch will fill out more as the summer progresses, and (I hope) the garden will get greener and taller than it is now.
